Terrific Concert!
Last evening’s concert was terrific both in composer selection and performances of the students. It’s such a privilege to see these concerts and my thoughts always go to how many hours and years have been devoted to their craft! Kudos to everyone. —L.S. -
What a beautiful night!
I saw the woodwind concert for the second year last night. The students showcased unusual pieces with great skill and enthusiasm ! The atmosphere at all hallows was a lovely complement to the young artists. Despite leaving in a torrential storm, pelted by hail, I sat in my car soaking wet thinking what a beautiful night of music! Thank you!—S.W. -
Big fans!
We are big fans of Curtis at All Hallows, and look forward to another season in 2025-26! The Church is only 10 minutes from our home, and such a nice venue. The young people who perform give us hope for the future of “classical” music, even if they are playing recently-composed pieces! Last evening, the first piece was one new to us, and not yet understood! The second was too short (!!), and the Ravel more enjoyable. I’m closing with thanks for the concerts, to the church, its volunteers who welcome us, and the special organ too!—C.W. -
Thoroughly enjoyable!
I attended last night’s performance. I live in Glenside. It was wonderful! The first 2 pieces were very interesting, and the Ravel was beautiful. The students were poised and professional. Thoroughly enjoyable.—C.C. -
Highly recommend!
Wonderful performance and I didn’t have to leave my neighborhood to hear them. Always a treat to hear talented young people. Thank you for coming to Wyncote.—N.S. -
A great evening of music!
We enjoyed the performance so much. We had attended a Curtis Winds concert 2 years ago, shortly after moving into the area near All Hallows Church, and enjoyed it tremendously, so we were thrilled there was another concert this year. The musicianship was, like all Curtis performances, astonishing, and thrilling to watch and hear. Another delight was the presence of 3 members of the Imani Windsquintet, who studied at Curtis, are teachers now, and act as coaches to the student musicians. Their visible excitement for their students’ performances was great to see. It was a great evening of music, in a beautiful environment, and a pleasure to enjoy a couple of hours of happy performers playing to a rapt audience.—L.P. -
Daniel’s performance was spectacular!
It was such a wonderful evening. Daniel’s performance was spectacular. The question and answer session was great. Daniel was so articulate in expressing his thoughts about the composers and their musical compositions pointing out the nuances of each piece. Hearing his thoughts was an added pleasure after the wonderful performance. I look forward to hearing more about him as he embarks on his life’s journey.—C.S. -
Perfect in all respects.
Daniel Carroll’s recital was perfect in all aspects – the performance, intimate setting and especially the talk back. I rarely go into Center City Philadelphia for events any more, going to Wyncote is like entering another wondrous world and no high cost. Kudos to everyone who makes this happen!—S.W.R. -
Karlis was spectacular!
Karlis was spectacular. Saturday evening was a special treat to watch up close Karlis’ beautiful hands gliding up and down the keyboard. He was so expressive. The Q & A at the end is always so enjoyable too. It’s fun to hear about the journey to Curtis. It was one of our favorites and we hope to see him again. My husband, as a former faculty member at UArts until the closing was so happy to hear about the acquisition by Curtis of the Art Alliance. It’s so nice that it will continue as a wonderful cultural institution.—C.S. -
A welcoming and wonderful venue!
We loved it! Karlis' program was virtuosic and sensitive. All Hallows is a welcoming and wonderful venue.—R.R. -
Real virtuosi!
We loved...the way the organ is positioned - makes it so fun to watch them playing and learning how each limb operates separately. Real virtuosi!—S.W.
